Nathan Slinde

Nathan E. Slinde, MD, graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and then attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating in 1999. His Internal Medicine residency was completed at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, Inc. (MCWAH) in 2002. He followed this with a faculty position at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center Emergency Department prior to completing his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, Inc. in 2006. During his fellowship, he received training in advanced endoscopic procedures, including therapeutic endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. He also helped author peer-reviewed publications in small bowel Crohn’s disease and capsule endoscopy. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology. Dr. Slinde joined the Fond du Lac Regional Clinic in 2006. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation for America (CCFA). Dr. Slinde has been recognized in the top 10 percent nationally for endoscopic quality as measured by the GI Quality Improvement Consortium (GIQuIC), a national database created by the ACG and ASGE to register endoscopic quality measures of providers (some examples of these quality measures include adenoma detection rate or percentage of time a precancerous polyp is found during colonoscopy, withdrawal time or how long the provider spends examining the colon and cecal intubation rate or how often the provider reaches the end of the colon to perform a complete exam). His practice philosophy is that every patient deserves quality and compassionate care, with cancer prevention one of his priorities. In his leisure time, Dr. Slinde enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. His recreational interests include cross country and downhill skiing, hiking, biking and boating.
