Summer is fast approaching, and Agnesian HealthCare’s Volunteer Services will have many opportunities for students that will be age 15 or older by June 1, 2019.
Agnesian HealthCare offers a dedicated summer program for teens to volunteer during the non-school months. Volunteering is a great way to experience giving of your time, gifts and talents, and the true gift of helping others. Other great benefits of volunteering are developing skills and gaining experience for future job opportunities, building community awareness and meeting new people to open yourself to giving back to your local community. Many colleges look for community involvement on their applications today. It is also a great feeling knowing you made a difference in someone’s day!
The summer student volunteer program begins June 11 and ends the last week of August. Teens are asked to commit to four hours per week with a minimum of 35 hours for the summer.
Students interested in participating in Summer Student Volunteer Program must apply online by March 30. All first-time student applicants must attend an interview session. Returning student applicants, with participation last summer, do not need to interview. Students only need to attend one session.
For convenience, multiple sessions are being offered at St Agnes Hospital during most schools’ spring break, as well as one session at Ripon Medical Center, and one session at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Sessions will start promptly on the hour, with a brief overview. Parents are asked to attend with their teen to be informed of the program guidelines. The session dates/times and locations for this year are listed below.
St. Agnes Hospital, Plaza Level Conference Center: Monday, April 1, 5 to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, April 2, 5 to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, April 3, 5 to 8 p.m.
Waupun Memorial Hospital, Marsh Conference Room: Wednesday, April 3, 4 to 6 p.m.
Ripon Medical Center, Green Lake Room: Wednesday, April 10, 4 to 6 p.m.
