Agnesian HealthCare is donating more than 500 turkeys to benefit families in Fond du Lac and surrounding communities during the Thanksgiving holiday.

For the past five years, Agnesian HealthCare provides a free turkey to all of its employees and providers to enjoy at Thanksgiving or other time. This year, volunteers were included. They have the option to donate their turkey for distribution to area food pantries.

On November 13, turkeys were given to 11 non-profit organizations in Fond du Lac, Oakfield, Ripon and Waupun.

"Each year, we enjoy and appreciate the opportunity to share this special gift with our employees, volunteers and providers to show how much we value their dedication and commitment to serving our patients, residents and their families," Dawn Vandenberg, regional director for Mission Integration. "We also know that there are many individuals and families that are struggling to make ends meet, and if these turkey donations can help in some way, we continue to fulfill our mission by meeting these needs."
