Orthopedics - From Head to Toe, Start to FinishAgnesian HealthCare offers an impressive orthopedic treatment team that can handle child and adult orthopedic needs, from first diagnosis to final rehabilitation. Our surgeons are skilled in the latest surgical techniques for the repair, replacement or reconstruction of the hand, knee, shoulder, foot, hip, wrist, ankle and elbow. Mountin Dr. (920) 387-7560 Agnesian HealthCare's Sports, Spine & Work Center meets the ever increasing needs of those suffering from orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. Whether the result of sport, work, motor vehicle accidents or surgery, the center's staff can meet the challenges of whiplash injuries, industrial back injuries, disc dysfunctions, sport injuries, muscle strains, ligament sprains, chronic pain and various forms of arthritis. Staff includes physical therapists, athletic trainers and ergonomic specialists, working as a team with physicians toward the common goal of helping clients become independent. Outreach to area schools, industry and community includes on-site injury prevention, assessment and care, as well as educational programs and ergonomic job analysis and wellness/ergonomic program facilitation. Extended service, beyond getting clients to a minimal functional level, includes work hardening/conditioning, athletic motion and gait analysis, and athletic acceleration programs. Special services include custom orthotic and brace fitting, Craniosacral Therapy and TMJ dysfunction treatment. Center for Physical Rehab Since 1979, the 12-bed Center for Physical Rehab, located at St. Agnes Hospital, has been serving the greater Fond du Lac area. St. Agnes Hospital's Center for Physical Rehab provides a comprehensive rehabilitation program for patients with disabling conditions such as head injuries, stroke, hip fractures, joint replacements (hip, knee), amputations, traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma/medically complex injuries, Parkinson's disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological and neuromuscular conditions. Services provided by the Center for Physical Rehab include: * Medical direction from neurologists who specialize in rehab * 24-hour rehab nursing care and education * Physical, occupational, speech, recreation and aquatic therapies * Nutrition services * Social Services * Rehab counseling * Pastoral Care services * Referrals to orthotics and prosthetics * Motovate – a biofeedback system * Stroke screenings for the community * Referrals to post-rehab services (such as vocational rehab, Adult Day Services, Transitional Care Unit, outpatient therapy, home care, Meals on Wheels, durable medical equipment and aquatic exercise). * Froedtert Hospital partnership The center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which recognizes organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF and clearly indicate that present conditions represent an established pattern of total operations that is likely to be maintained and/or improved in the foreseeable future. It is also accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Physical Medicine The Physical Medicine department at Agnesian HealthCare is compromised of more than 70 staff members and includes professionals from the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and athletic training. In addition to services provided by Sports, Spine & Work Center, Physical Medicine services are also offered at St. Agnes Hospital and Waupun Memorial Hospital through both inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy. St. Agnes Hospital pediatric patients can also benefit from comprehensive therapy services. Professional staff can help with hand and upper extremity rehabilitation and other adult rehabilitation, such as neurological rehabilitation, lymphedema control, incontinence, swallowing problems and more.
