Programs Serving Women in Mid-Life: The natural aging process brings with it new health concerns as women seek to maintain a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. Agnesian HealthCare's Women's Health Services offers the resources to make the most during this time of transition:

  • Bone Densitometry  A simple, non-intrusive bone density test is the best way to accurately measure the density of your bones. Left unchecked, brittle bones caused by osteoporosis can lead to stooped posture, chronic pain, and restricted mobility. A bone density test can help your physician diagnose the disease, especially early-on, before prescribing a course of treatment.
  • Dale Michels Center for Heart Care  Agnesian HealthCare offers comprehensive Heart Care Services close to home through the Dale Michels Center for Heart Care.  These services bring to the region a diverse and complete package of quality cardiac procedures, including open-heart surgery (coronary artery bypass grafts), coronary angioplasty, stent placements, cardiac catheterizations and other procedures.
  • Incontinence Services  Although sometimes embarrassing, urinary incontinence can often be successfully treated and reversed. Our incontinence specialists will help you work toward more normal bladder control and improved urinary health.
  • Free Women's Health Checkups  In cooperation with the Wisconsin Women's Cancer Control Program, Agnesian HealthCare offers free checkups, including a Pap smear and pelvic exam, clinical breast exam and a mammogram, for women age 50 and older with low incomes, no insurance or not enough insurance.
  • Genetic Counseling  We offer genetic counseling evaluations for potential mothers whose children are at increased risk for birth defects due to family history or for potential mothers over the age of 35.  We also offer evaluations for pregnancies that have been deemed high-risk due to results of prenatal blood tests and/or ultrasound.
  • Genetic Testing  Our ultrasound technologists are certified in first trimester screenings that provide for earlier and more accurate diagnosis of certain chromosomal disorders.  We also offer Amniocentesis testing that can help to identify chromosomal abnormalities, inherited conditions and some birth defects.  These tests are typically done later in the pregnancy (after the 15th week).
  • Women and Infants  Every woman knows excellence in healthcare is much more than technology and the miracles of modern medicine. When you are hospitalized for any reason, you expect and deserve sensitivity, privacy, dignity and respect.  Designed for women by women, the Women & Infants Unit at St. Agnes Hospital was built to meet the medical and emotional needs of gynecological patients, expectant mothers and their families.  Our Women & Infants Unit blends the latest technology, the comforts of home, and the medical expertise of our physicians and associates to provide a continuum of care that addresses all aspects of a woman’s life.
  • Women's Imaging  Regularly scheduled mammograms are one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Our radiographers produce clear images of the breast that can reveal small tumors up to two years before they can be felt by physical examination. That is important, because when you find a breast tumor in its earliest stages, you have a better than 90 percent chance of long-term survival.
  • Obstetric Services  Our caring obstetricians and gynecologists provide specialized and compassionate care to women of all ages. Our obstetricians are there to care and treat women before and during normal and high-risk pregnancy and childbirth. Gynecology care focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the female reproductive system, including menstrual disorders, infections, tumors, urinary control and much more. Laser procedures also are performed for minor treatments.
  • Domestic Violence Program  Agnesian HealthCare operates a Domestic Violence Program at St. Agnes Hospital with services also available at Waupun Memorial Hospital. The program provides 24-hour crisis assistance, support groups, follow-up services, referrals to community resources and a resource library. The staff of domestic violence advocates and trained volunteers makes the hospital a safe place to disclose abuse. For more information on the Domestic Violence Program, call (920) 926-4207. To page an advocate 24 hours a day, call (920) 926-4290.
  • Behavioral Health Services

Agnesian HealthCare has long been recognized as a leader in providing quality care for members of our community with psychological and addictive concerns.

Our highly-trained team of professionals includes psychiatrists, addictionologists, psychologists, psychotherapists, nurses, family therapists, social workers, and certified alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) counselors.  These professionals work together in three locations to serve children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
