Massage therapy involves the manual manipulation of skin, muscles and underlying soft tissue to reduce muscle tension and loosen sore joints thereby minimizing physical pain. It can help relieve stress, manage pain, reduce anxiety, help fibromyalgia, reduce muscle tension, relieve tension headaches, ease depression, lower blood pressure and increase range of motion.
“I am passionate about the power of healing through touch and helping people who are in pain,” according to Cantu. "Massage is so much more than just working the muscles. I integrate modalities and listen to your body. Give me a chance to help you heal yourself."
Cantu earned her massage therapy degree from The Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago, and is a licensed massage therapist.
She is also a certified ACE massage cupping practitioner. By creating suction and vacuum pressure, ACE massage cupping is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, move deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.
