Our interpreters assist in a variety of ways, including: making appointments and communicating with providers, helping them to navigate through our various facilities, assisting with billing and financial questions, assisting with community care forms and overall process, facilitating referrals to other community resources, serving as advocates for non- or limited-English speaking patients, and offering cultural assistance to both patients and providers.
In addition, Agnesian HealthCare is very fortunate to have many bilingual providers, nurses and support staff that provide a great benefit to Agnesian HealthCare and our Spanish-speaking patients and families. For example, the Fond du Lac Regional Clinic Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology departments provide many different ways to provide clear communication, like through our on-site interpreters, bilingual speaking physicians and nursing staff, as well as our Language Line service, which offers over-the-phone interpretation 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from any phone. Interpreters can translate English into more than 140 languages. The Language Line service allows Agnesian HealthCare associates to obtain accurate information with Spanish Speaking patients and families that have called with a sick child or are having health concerns themselves.
