Influenza cases still on the rise; very young, elderly most affected

Healthcare providers in Fond du Lac County are seeing significant increases in influenza cases.
Agnesian HealthCare – like other healthcare providers – saw the start of the flu season much earlier this year. This year’s first confirmed case was November 29 – four weeks earlier than the previous year.

St. Agnes Hospital has welcomed its first baby of the New Year. Nicholas Michael Cullen was born on Tuesday, January 1 at 1:40 a.m. to Catherine and Joseph Cullen, of Fond du Lac. He weighed eight pounds and one ounce, and was 20 inches long.

Waupun Memorial Hospital has welcomed its first baby of the New Year. Hailey Ann Dylak was born Tuesday, January 1 at 6:05 a.m. to Anthony and Ashley Dylak, of Waupun. Hailey Ann weighed six pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 and one-half inches long.
