Agnesian HealthCare’s Hospice Hope will be hosting its 13th annual “Kids Survival Kamp – Growing Through Grief” on June 25 and 26 at the Cedar Valley Campus in West Bend.
Sponsored by the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, Kids Survival Kamp is a free, two-day camp for children who have experienced the death of a sibling, parent or grandparent. It is a camp where children, ages six to 16, can work through the grieving process after a loved one has died.
Trained volunteers gently provide activities and fun in an atmosphere where children can share their emotions and concerns with peers. Staff ratio is one adult per five children.
Kids Survival Kamp activities include a bonfire, paddleboats, fishing, swimming, hiking (Cedar Valley Campus has 100 acres with trails), arts and crafts, an obstacle course and much more! Since it is an overnight camp, children will need to bring a sleeping bag, change of clothing, something to sleep in and sweats or sweaters for evening outside activities.
Buses will pick-up and drop-off children at the Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope office located at 238 Trowbridge Drive, Fond du Lac, on June 25 at 8:30 a.m. with drop-off at 5 p.m. on June 26.
There is no charge to attend the Kids Survival Kamp. Preregistration is required by Friday, June 14. To register for the Kids Survival Kamp, call Agnesian HealthCare’s Journeys: a health resource center at (920) 926-4960.
