Teams forming for June 18 Foundation for Ripon Medical Center golf outing
It’s not often that many people can say that they golfed at the number two overall ranked golf course in Wisconsin, according to GolfWeek. And, then on top of it, golf for a great cause?
That would truly be the case for golfers that participate in the June 18 Charity Golf Outing as sponsored by the Foundation for Ripon Medical Center. The annual golf outing is slated at the Woodlands course at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia. It will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Dinner, along with a live and silent auction, will conclude the evening at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s proceeds will also help save lives of individuals in the Ripon area suffering a heart attack. The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center wants to provide area businesses and organizations with automated external defibrillators (AEDs), which use an electric shock to help the heart return to its normal rhythm of contraction.
“We know that AEDs do make a difference for individuals in sudden cardiac arrest,” says Rita Meidam, Foundation for Ripon Medical Center executive director. “In fact, studies have repeatedly shown the importance of immediate bystander CPR plus defibrillation when given within three to five minutes of a patient collapsing.
