RMC obstetrician/gynecologist sets women’s health roundtable August 22
Join Steven Sheppard, DO, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Ripon Medical Center, for good food and good conversation around women’s health.
Dr. Sheppard will lead a women’s health roundtable discussion at the Palenque Coffee House on Highway 23 in Ripon on Thursday, August 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
In a relaxed atmosphere, interested women can ask Dr. Sheppard questions they have relating to women’s health, enjoy some refreshments and have a chance to win a free iPad mini. Participants can come and go as they please, and bring a friend.
Dr. Sheppard sees patients at the Ripon Medical Center Primary Care Services clinic, 933 Newbury Street in Ripon. His welcome to the Ripon community signals the return of birthing services at Ripon Medical Center, after a 10-year absence.
As an obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. Sheppard provides comprehensive healthcare services to women of all ages, including pregnancy and childbirth, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the female reproductive system, and management of perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.
A graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Sheppard completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Metropolitan Hospital, Parkview Division. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a senior fellow with the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
“I am a strong proponent of preventive healthcare, and I feel patients should be involved in their care,” says Dr. Sheppard. “I think a big part of my job is to educate patients so they can make informed decisions about what is best for their health and the health of their unborn child.”
Dr. Sheppard has relocated to Ripon with his wife, Nancy. They have two children, Scott, 28, and Brian, 27.
“I made the decision to join Agnesian HealthCare because I was excited about helping to rebuild an obstetrics and gynecology program in a hospital that has not had this service for some time,” according to Dr. Sheppard. “I look forward to working with the other physicians on staff who are already a part of this growing system. My wife, Nancy, and I are glad to be part of the Ripon community.”
Dr. Sheppard enjoys reading, golfing, traveling with his wife and spending time with family.
