Cancer survivor, Pink Glove Dance video to highlight Agnesian HealthCare breast health event
A person’s life is never the same after a diagnosis of breast cancer. Once treatment is over, cancer survivors cope with their new life in different ways. Many survivors take their experiences and turn it into something positive.
Keri Sabel, of Fond du Lac, is one such individual who has found a purpose in sharing their experience and giving back to others. Her hope is to inspire others and offer hope that there is truly life after cancer.
Join Agnesian HealthCare on Thursday, October 10 as part of its annual breast health event to hear Keri’s story firsthand. This free event is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Agnesian HealthCare’s Plaza Level Conference Center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.
Keri still vividly remembers the conversation sharing her diagnosis.
“Keri, we have the results of your biopsy so why don’t you come on over so we can talk with you about it,” was the conversation I was having with Kay Groeschl, an Agnesian HealthCare breast health coordinator,” she recalls. “I thought - if it wasn’t bad news she wouldn’t need to see me. I knew I had cancer. I didn’t shed a tear. I knew I would get through this. I had too. I have a darling husband and three sons whom I adore. I can beat this and I know just how.”
As part of Keri’s presentation, Agnesian HealthCare will show its 2013 Pink Glove Dance Video, which spotlights Keri’s story of survivorship. Voting begins on October 25, and Agnesian HealthCare has the opportunity to win $25,000 for the American Cancer Society. To learn more, visit agnesian.com/pinkglovedance.
