Ripon Medical Center Associates ‘Lights of Love’ records successful year
Nearly $5,400 was raised as part of this year’s “Lights of Love” fund-raiser by the Ripon Medical Center Associates, Inc. Proceeds will help to sponsor an item to enhance the healing environment at the new Ripon Medical Center, scheduled to open in fall/winter 2014.
The names of individuals and businesses that are being honored this year will be on display on special Lights of Love Trees in the hallway at Ripon Medical Center through the first week in January. The public is invited to view the trees.
“We are so appreciative of the community’s continued support of our various fund-raising events, and especially for their giving to this year’s ‘Lights of Love’ project,” says Jackie Halverson, Ripon Medical Center Associates, Inc. president.
The “Lights of Love” fund-raiser was assisted, in part, by proceeds from a raffle of three distinctive gift baskets, featuring donated gift certificates from area businesses and organizations.
Winners of this year’s raffle prizes include:
- First prize basket ($575 value): Joann Milbrath, Ripon. This basket featured gift certificates from Lawsonia/Caddy Shack, Heidel House, Nortons, Fat Bruces, and Adam’s Rib and Downhill Coffee.

This basket featured gift certificates from Mascoutin, China One, Reilly’s Pub, Applebee’s, Vines and Rushes, Tuscumbia, Ripon Family Restaurant, Palenque Coffee House, Mugs, Campus Theater, Cousins Subs, Log Cabin Bar and Grill, and Friar Tucks.

“We know that our success is due to our continued financial supporters, as well as others that bring forward their time and talents, including the Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Pastor Dennis Meier, as well as Ripon Electric and owner Michael Walgenbach for making sure the ‘Lights of Love’ tree burns brightly each year,” according to Halverson. “We thank everyone on behalf of the Ripon Medical Center Associates, Inc. and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
