Waupun Memorial Hospital to host ‘Music in the Park’ to celebrate quality honors
Waupun Memorial Hospital has set its sights on offering area individuals and families with the highest quality of care. All designed to provide as many healthcare services at the local level, dramatically reducing the need to travel.
The fruition of these quality efforts has been apparent within the last several months as Waupun Memorial Hospital has received several honors relating to its level of care, customer service and programs.
To celebrate these quality honors, the hospital is hosting a free event on Thursday, June 20, called “Music on the Park: A Celebration to Recognize Excellence.” The event is scheduled at the West End Park in Waupun and will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Participants will enjoy a free dinner with family and friends, as well as musical entertainment by The Hits. The Hits is a three-man band that plays favorites from the 1950s to the 1990s – great music for all ages! Bring your lawn chairs to get comfortable!
Dinner will be served by Agnesian HealthCare physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants that provide care in Waupun and surrounding communities.
In addition, children can decorate floral pots to take home and plant a packet of seeds – watch them grow! They will be assisted by Waupun Memorial Hospital nurses; participants can also sign a special banner celebrating Waupun Memorial Hospital becoming the first healthcare provider in the region, and one of only two in Wisconsin to receive the prestigious Pathway to Excellence® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The designation substantiates the professional satisfaction of nurses at Waupun Memorial Hospital and identifies it as one of the best places to work.
And, Waupun Area Junior/High School art students will be offering face painting! While waiting, test your knowledge about staying well. Door prizes will also be offered. Lastly, a special banner will be on hand for signing by Waupun Area Junior/High School science students that recently helped to name Agnesian HealthCare’s new robotic surgical system, Ambidexter or Dex for short.
The Music in the Park celebration culminates the receipt of several quality awards, including the Pathway to Excellence. In addition, Waupun Memorial Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety in hospitals.
“Such positive survey findings can only happen through the dedicated efforts of many individuals working together as a team,” says DeAnn Thurmer, Waupun Memorial Hospital chief operating officer. “We are grateful for all the efforts of leaders and associates in every department throughout our system who assure we are truly ready, 365 days a year.”
Waupun Memorial Hospital has been named for a second consecutive time to a top 100 list of rural hospitals around the country. And, Waupun Memorial Hospital has been named by Professional Research Consultants as a 2013 4-Star Award winner in inpatient services for overall quality of care.
