The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation is adding a new twist to its annual Samaritan Health Clinic House Raffle, now in its 18th year, as it moves its drawing date to fall, just in time for the lucky winner to move in for the holidays!
Additionally, the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation can now accept credit card ticket sales by phone. All other purchases will continue to occur face-to-face, without sales by mail.
Construction is currently underway for the 2013 Samaritan Health Clinic annual raffle house, located in the Town of Fond du Lac at N6003 Hideaway Lane in the Westfield Hideaway Subdivision.
Drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30. The house raffle is the main source of funding for the clinic’s operations. All proceeds help provide patients with important basic health services, medications and urgent dental needs.
“The Samaritan Health Clinic serves a critical need in meeting the needs of those individuals in our community who lack the financial resources to receive the care they need,” says Derek Colmenares, MD, Fond du Lac Regional Clinic family medicine physician and 2013 house raffle co-chairperson.
Joining Dr. Colmenares as the 2013 house raffle co-chair is Gary Deitte, vice president of Holiday Automotive.
“In its first 17 years, the house raffle has raised just more than two million for the Samaritan Health Clinic,” says Deitte. “We hope the community continues to show its tremendous support, since the clinic provides patients a point of contact for their healthcare needs and a team who assists them in finding the best possible resources to assure financial concerns are not an added burden.”
Samaritan house construction is currently underway for the 2,248-square-foot ranch house, which is valued at $269,000.
Raffle tickets will go on sale on the 4th of July, and will cost $50 each or $150 for four.
The health clinics at St. Agnes Hospital and Waupun Memorial Hospital are on target to welcome more than 325 new patients this year and provide nearly 350 healthcare service vouchers monthly for physician follow-up visits, vision or dental care, and medication assistance.
“The needs are greater than ever,” says Rita Meidam, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation executive director. “We are so fortunate to have individuals come forward each year to help us in our efforts to ensure that healthcare services are accessible to all individuals, no matter what financial resources they have available to them. We are blessed to be in our 18th year and are enthusiastic about the new changes that purchasers will see.”
Dream Builders, Tom Lemiesz, sole proprietor, is constructing the three-bedroom house with three-car garage on a large, half-acre lot in the Town of Fond du Lac. Partners by Design coordinates the furnishings and decoration for the open houses.
Beginning October 12, the house will be open to the public for viewing each weekend until the drawing. Public open houses are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 12 & 13, October 19 & 20, and October 26 & 27; from 4 to 7 p.m. on October 25 & 29; and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on October 30.
