Volunteers at Ripon Medical Center are warm and caring individuals that want to give back to their community. Volunteers offer their time, talent and dedication throughout the hospital in patient care and clerical settings providing an extra dimension of care to patients and families.
“Volunteers are a vital part of Ripon Medical Center with more than 120 volunteers,” according to Karen Gross, Volunteer Services liaison with Ripon Medical Center. “While our volunteers come from unique backgrounds, they all are commonly interested in helping others. The care they provide is invaluable to patients and families.”
Ripon Medical Center currently has volunteer opportunities in the Center Shoppe (gift shop), central registration and information desk.
“Studies show that people who volunteer live happier and healthier lives,” Gross says. “Volunteers feel good knowing they have made a positive impact on patients, their families and other associates through the work they do.”
Currently, there are a total of 18 open volunteer positions. The Center Shoppe is looking for individuals to serve as cashier and assist customers, while central registration is seeking individuals to assist associates with patient flow and paperwork. Information desk volunteers greet and assist patients and provide wheelchair transport. Other opportunities exist: providing refreshments to inpatients, restocking nursing supplies, and help rehab associates with maintaining gym area.
