Ostomy Support Group

Agnesian HealthCare Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac

Individuals and families living with ostomies are invited to meet with others to share their concerns, ask questions, enjoy the company of others or just listen.


Facilitated by Stefanie Vanderbush, RN, BSN, and Karen Parker-Vermeer (KP), Agnesian Health Shoppe ostomy product specialist, participants will have the opportunity to gather with others who have similar circumstances. Individuals can share experiences, provide mutual support, and learn about the latest ostomy information and products. 


Agnesian HealthCare’s Ostomy Support Group meets quarterly on the second Wednesday in February, May, August and November from 2 to 3 p.m.


Preregistration is required.

Open Bereavement Support Group: Anyone experiencing the loss of a spouse/partner may attend any of the meetings and different individuals may be there each time.


Please join us at our new location on the west end of Twohig Flooring America near the Kwik Trip on the west side of Fond du Lac.

Domestic Violence Support Group - Shine

Shine is a support group for women who have been abused physically, sexually, verbally and emotionally, or who are currently involved in a domestic violence relationship.


Shine is an open support group and meets Thursday evenings from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Agnesian HealthCare's Behavioral Health Services Meeting Room, Diagnostic & Treatment Center fifth floor, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

This one-evening class is for expectant parents in their late second or mid to late third trimesters of pregnancy. Expectant parents will learn about third trimester changes in mom and baby's body; changes in mom and baby's body during labor; process of labor and fetal monitoring; signs and symptoms of labor, when to go to the hospital; stages of labor; pain control options; relaxation; comfort and distraction techniques; pushing positions; high-risk situations; and what happens after delivery. This program also includes a tour of the Women & Infants Unit birthing rooms.

Agnesian HealthCare will host its second annual Caring for Women event at Agnesian HealthCare's Plaza Level conference center in Fond du Lac on Thursday, February 11, 2016.


The event is designed to educate, encourage and empower women to proactively live healthy lives.



Attendees are invited to visit interactive booths from Agnesian HealthCare services lines such heart care, obstetrics & gynecology, chiropractic care, Journeys: a health resource center, behavioral health, domestic violence, Agnesian Health Shoppe and dermatology/plastic surgery.


The Mindful Program will include Mindful Meditation, Know & Go on the Go, and Mindful Art canvas paintings with Agnesian HealthCare art therapists.


The event will also feature a cooking demonstration by Mike Wetzel, Agnesian HealthCare chef.

Grief Matters - Educational Support Group 


 This group is intended for individuals who are grieving the death of someone closes to them. Learn about a variety of grief topics and with opportunities to share you experience with others who understand. This group provides a safe environment to share feelings such as guilt, anger, fear, or loneliness.


 


Please join us at the Bereavement Center behind Twohig Flooring America, near the Kwik Trip on the west side of Fond du Lac.

Safe Sitter - Ripon Medical Center

Agnesian HealthCare’s Safe Sitter workshop is a nationally-recognized babysitting workshop that teaches adolescent babysitters how to handle crises, and how to nurture and guide a young child. Participants of this workshop emerge as more confident, responsible compassionate teens and adults. Students will receive a manual and course completion card upon successful completion. This class is for young adults ages 11 to 14.


Students should bring a beverage and snack/lunch or dinner.
