Look Good...Feel Better - St. Agnes Hospital

Agnesian HealthCare Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac

Guided by volunteer cosmetologists, the Look Good...Feel Better program is designed for female cancer patients and provides instruction on how to use make-up and skincare techniques to overcome the appearance-related effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Participants will receive a complimentary make-up bag offered through a partnership of the American Cancer Society; the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation; and the National Cosmetology Association.

Classes and materials are provided free of charge to women in active cancer treatment.

Preregistration for this free program is required by registering on-line, calling Journeys at (920) 926-4960 or the American Cancer Society at (800) 227-2345.

Walk With a Doc

Agnesian HealthCare is partnering with Walk With a Doc to create a safe, walkable community.

The collaborative mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.

Join Agnesian HealthCare providers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. to begin your commitment of improved health and well-being.

Step it Up! The Surgeon General of the United States recommends 150 minutes of weekly exercise to:

  • Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, type 2 diabetes, breast and colon cancers, and depression

  • Maintain or lose weight

  • Boost your energy

  • Improve your sleep

  • Reduce stress

  • Redue your risk of falls

  • Delay the onset of cognitive decline and dementia

  • Increase sense of well-being and more!

Domestic Violence Support Group - Shine

Shine is a support group for women who have been abused physically, sexually, verbally and emotionally, or who are currently involved in a domestic violence relationship.

Shine is an open support group and meets Thursday evenings from 5 to 6 p.m. at Domestic Violence Services, 21 S. Marr Street, Fond du Lac.

For more information about this free support group, call (920) 926-4207. An individual needs-assessment meeting is required before participating in the support group.

Understanding Mom & Baby: Postpartum Care - Step Three

Thank you for your interest in Step Two of Agnesian HealthCare's Prepared Childbirth Journey.

This one evening class is for expectant parents in their mid to late third trimester of pregnancy. New parents are invited to join St. Agnes Hospital Women & Infants Unit labor and delivery nurses for a two-part class that focuses on mom and baby, after baby has been born. Session one focuses on mom - body changes after delivery; breast care, baby blues, relationships, work and child care, diet and exercise and expectations. Session two is all about baby, including newborn characteristics, feeding, sleeping, soothing, bathing, illness and more!
