Sleep Apnea Support Group

January's topic is Medications and Their Impact on Sleep.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss medications that have been utilized to promote sleep. Learn about the safety, side effects, warnings and implications of use.

  • Identify medications that have side effects that can disrupt the normal sleep cycle, and how to manage those side effects. 

Agnesian HealthCare's Sleep Apnea support group is a free support group for individuals with sleep apnea, and anyone interested in learning more about sleep apnea.

Domestic Violence Support Group - Shine

Shine is a support group for women who have been abused physically, sexually, verbally and emotionally, or who are currently involved in a domestic violence relationship.

Shine is an open support group and meets Thursday evenings from 5 to 6 p.m. at Domestic Violence Services, 21 S. Marr Street, Fond du Lac.

For more information about this free support group, call (920) 926-4207. An individual needs-assessment meeting is required before participating in the support group.

Understanding Mom & Baby: Postpartum Care - Step Two

Expectant parents in their mid to late third trimester of pregnancy are invited to join St. Agnes Hospital Women & Infants Unit labor and delivery nurses for a two-part class that focuses on mom and baby, after baby has been born. Session one focuses on mom - body changes after delivery; breast care, baby blues, relationships, work and child care, diet and exercise and expectations. Session two is all about baby, including newborn characteristics, feeding, sleeping, soothing, bathing, illness and more! 

Class dates are January 19 & 26.

Understanding Birth - Ripon Medical Center

This class is for expectant parents in their late second or mid to late third trimesters of pregnancy. Topics include third trimester changes in mom and baby's body; changes in mom and baby's body during labor; process of labor and fetal monitoring; signs and symptoms of labor and when to go to the hospital; stages of labor, pain control options; relaxation, comfort and distraction techniques, pushing positions; high-risk situations; and what happens after deliveryand more! This program also includes a tour of the Women & Infants Unit birthing rooms.

Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers Uniform Sale

The Agnesian HealthCare Volunteers have scheduled two uniform sales to benefit patient programs and services.

The first is scheduled at a new location - the Agnesian Health Plaza Building A, 421 Camelot Drive, Fond du Lac - from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24. The sale will be held in the Mary Agnes Room (second floor, second driveway).

The second is from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 in Agnesian HealthCare’s lobby concourse, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

PRN Uniforms will feature a selection of more than 4,000 items from top manufacturers, including scrubs, shoes and accessories at affordable prices. A few of the brand names you will see are Crest, Rockers, Peaches, Nursemates, Cherokee and more! There will be a selection of seasonal and sport prints to choose from. Checks, Visa and MasterCard will be accepted. Agnesian HealthCare associates can use quickcharge.

All proceeds benefit patient programs and services. You will not want to miss this great opportunity to purchase new scrubs at affordable prices.
