Infant Massage
Infant massage is nourishment for healthy development of baby’s mind, body and spirit. Loving touch lessens tension, fussiness and irritability; enhances bonding; aids in growth and development; improves baby’s sleep and increases circulation. This Agnesian HealthCare class is for newborns that are not yet crawling. Participants should bring a soft blanket to the class. Program cost is $20 per family. Infant massage is offered at Agnesian HealthCare’s Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

Breastfeeding for Moms and Dads
This free class provides you and your partner with information to begin breastfeeding with confidence and a true sense of security. Topics include the advantages of breastfeeding, techniques, problem prevention, returning to work and the use of breast pumps for the nursing mother. Breastfeeding for Moms and Dads is offered at St. Agnes Hospital on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and at Waupun Memorial Hospital on the third Wednesday of every other month (starting in January) from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Prepared Childbirth – Instructor Led
This Agnesian HealthCare class for expectant parents includes information on nutrition, fetal growth and development, mechanics of labor, breathing and relaxation, types of deliveries, physical and emotional needs of the mother and coach, plus much more. The program also includes a tour of the Women & Infants Unit birthing rooms. Prepared Childbirth is offered at St. Agnes Hospital on the first Thursday of every other month (starting in January) from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and on the second Saturday of alternating months from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Classes at Waupun Memorial Hospital are offered on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Program cost is $30 per couple. An on-line version is also available for $50 per couple.

Prepared Childbirth – On-line
This Internet-based program is a convenient alternative for those whose schedules make it difficult to attend an on-site class due to scheduling concerns, time constraints or health issues. The user-friendly program guides expectant parents through quality, evidence-based information at their own pace. Families will learn about the stages of labor, comfort techniques, common medical procedures, including epidurals, and newborn and postpartum care. Engaging videos, personal birth stories, 3D animations, games, and activities make learning easy and fun.

Baby Care Basics
This class provides instruction and demonstration regarding infant care, such as feeding, bathing, navel care, circumcision care and diapering. Mom and support person are welcome to attend. The class covers how to respond to your infant’s cues, signs and symptoms of an ill infant, newborn safety and much more. This class should be completed by the end of the eighth month of pregnancy. This class is offered at Agnesian HealthCare’s Journeys: a health resource center, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, on the fourth Thursday of every month from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Program cost is $30 per couple.
