A total of $30,000 was raised from a two-day event - Mild 2 Wild Cruise 2 The Cabin Car Show for Hospice. The early September car show was conducted at Red Cabin at Green Acres, offering car enthusiasts and spectators with great hot rods, door prizes, 50/50 raffles, silent and live auction, and much more. All proceeds will help support hospice patient care.
The fund-raiser was the idea of Tim Engel, Mild 2 Wild Paint owner, and Ann Marie Sztukowski. Her parents both benefited from Agnesian HealthCare Hospice Hope services. Engel had previously organized a poker run and car show for another organization with great success.
While several years passed by, Engel stayed in touch with car enthusiasts. “I have always been involved with classic cars, hot rods and car shows, and have developed many great relationships with many hot rodders,” according to Engel. “Many of those hot rodders were asking if there were any plans in the future.”
Conversations with Sztukowski began to seek a benefactor for future events.
“Agnesian HealthCare’s Hospice Hope is a great compassionate service that touches the lives of everyone in some way, shape or form,” Sztukowski says. “Both my parents received extremely wonderful care from hospice. Tim’s family has also benefited from these services. The care and compassion given helps to make a difficult time in a family's life easier and reassuring.”
Both organizers appreciate the continued support of this event. “Ann Marie and I send a special thank you to our close friends, family, volunteers and local businesses that helped in this year’s successful fund-raiser,” Engel says.
While next year’s event will still take place over a two-day period, the days will be separated by months - one taking place in May and the other on the second weekend of September.
